What is an eftpos enabled digital wallet?
While several ‘Pay’ wallets (such as Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay) are referred to as digital wallets, they have limited functionality of storing card details to pay. A ‘true’ digital wallet is an application on your phone that allows customers to store much more than card details – it also lets them store and use loyalty cards, gift cards and personal details (such as email address). With all this data at their fingertips, customers can interact with Merchants in deeper, more meaningful ways. True digital wallets will even include transaction data such as digital receipts.

To take advantage of eftpos QR, a customer must have a ‘true’ digital wallet that’s enabled on the eftpos QR network.
Where can I present a QR code?
Generally speaking, you can present a QR code anywhere you want to engage with your customer – whether it’s on a payment terminal, eCommerce shopping cart, self-service kiosk screen, or other media channels (sometimes even in print).
Will there be any changes to my settlement if I enable eftpos QR?
No. Your settlement process will remain unchanged, and you will continue to get your settlement as you do today.
Does eftpos QR only support eftpos transactions?
No – eftpos QR can give your customers a choice of payment options, so they can choose their preferred one. These payment options will be rolled out in a phased approach, with eftpos launching first. Other payment types and international card schemes will follow shortly after.
