Breaking notes, counting coins, or waiting for an irritated waiter to pass around a pos machine can kill the vibe of a great night out.   

If the restaurant refuses to split payments altogether, you might be the one leaving the restaurant with a wallet stuffed with notes and coins.  

Which is slightly better than forgetting your wallet altogether and being forced to ask your friend for an IOU… #awkward 

With PayID, split the bill in real-time by paying directly from your bank account without needing to use BSB and account numbers. Here’s how: 

All you need to do: 

1. If you don’t already have a PayID, log in to your banking app and find or search PayID in the menu. Follow the prompts to select your phone number or email address to be your PayID that is linked to your bank account.  
2. Give your PayID (your phone number or email address) to the people you are collecting money from. If they haven’t heard of PayID, tell them they can use it instead of a BSB and account number inside their usual banking app when they are making the payment to you.  

The people paying you just need to: 

1. Log in to their internet or mobile banking, start making a payment and look for ‘pay to a PayID’ (or mobile number/email address) in the ‘pay someone’ function. 
2. Enter your PayID and they will see your name before they make the payment. 
3. They can include a longer description – up to 280 characters
   “For dinner tonight. Great to finally catch up! 🍕🌮🥂” (yes, you can even include emojis!)  
4. Once they hit confirm, hit refresh on your own banking app and watch the money instantly arrive into your account! 

PayID makes group nights out easier:

• You can see the name of who you are paying before you pay, reducing the risk of mistakes
